Our Client is seeking a Senior Statutory Accountant in Boca Raton, FL.

Earn a salary at this full-time position working Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid/remote opportunity to candidates residing in Florida.

Job Description:

  • Prepare journal entries to facilitate timely financial statement close, ensuring alignment with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)
  • Generate financial statements according to established schedules and input from the accounting department
  • Examine financial statements for discrepancies, variances, and issues warranting management’s attention
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual statutory filing, including core financial statements, supporting schedules, and footnote disclosures
  • Review journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by junior accounting staff
  • Compile all Statutory to GAAP adjustment entries to support the preparation of financial statements presented on both statutory and GAAP principles
  • Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to maintain accurate reporting
  • Evaluate technical accounting issues related to Statutory accounting regulations for appropriate financial treatment
  • Provide support for financial statement audit activities in both GAAP and SAP
  • Review inter-company transactions and create invoices when necessary
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinates
  • Participate in special projects, ad hoc analyses, and other activities as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience as an accountant
  • At least 2 years of experience as a senior accountant
  • Must have Yellow Book reporting experience
  • Must have statutory accounting experience
  • Must have experience with EFS statutory reporting software
  • Experience in the property and casualty insurance industry
  • Experience with EAS general ledger
  • CPA license preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and SAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
